My First 2009 Blogroll Addition: The Money Blogs
It’s been a while since I’ve had time to review another web log, but I’m ready to add to my list. This one is different, because it’s an aggregation blog.
The Money Blogs features feeds from blogs covering personal finance, stock investing, real estate, and other money-related topics. Yours truly was added last year, but I didn’t want to link to the site until I had a chance to evaluate it and decide whether it was worth recommending. The site pulls titles and summary feeds and provides links to each blog post. A number of big-name blogs are included, but there’s not a staggering number of sites here and they’re topically arranged, so it’s a great tool for browsing the minds of money bloggers.
My only criticism of the site is that it uses some sort of algorithm to select a photo to display with each post. Some of the photo choices are a puzzling; for example, my post on gender-neutral annuities features a photo of a folded $100 bill. This isn’t a real problem, though, and the quirky photos don’t detract from the content.
